About Alibaba eFounders Fellowship Program Asia:

Jack Ma, Alibaba Group’s founder and Executive Chairman and UNCTAD Special Adviser committed to empower 1000 entrepreneurs over the five years from the developing countries and this fellowship program is part of that commitment made between the two giant organizations. The first launch of this very program was put after the successful class of 24 African participants who took part at the inaugural class. Yet, after its success, the Asian batch was formed, which is then passed through huge scrutiny and hunting. The selected candidates were from Pakistan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. These selected then walked towards their 11 days journey of learning and enlightenment with full of adventure and excitement along with tough pathways. At, the end of the program they became the representatives for their respective countries and became an integral part of providing learning and developing a base for the e-commerce business and transformation.

About the Event:

Last week on Saturday 12^th May 2018, afternoon, four young entrepreneurs conducted a first meet up of Alibaba eFounders Fellows - Pakistan (Karachi Meetup I), at the Aman CED, IBA main campus here in Karachi, Pakistan.

These four young talented and passionate learners shared their experience of their 11 days long journey of entrepreneurial enlightenment with the people of Karachitties.  They reach at this point, after passing through tamed pathways and tight scrutiny by Pakistan Innovation Foundation in collaboration with Ignite, entered to the China’s innovation hub, Alibaba Campus, Hangzhou. They are Anum Kamran (Buyon.pk); Furquan Kidwai (Dawaai.pk); Hamza Iftikhar (Dealsmash) and Komail Naqvi (FindMyAdventure). These four youngsters were fortune enough to be graduated from Alibaba eFounders Fellowship Program Asia Class 1. A program that is the joint initiative of the UNCTAD and Alibaba Business School, their prime purpose is to share and taught young entrepreneurs unlocking their true potential there by taking them to the highs of digital world. These youngsters made a promise while leaving Fellowship program that they will spread the knowledge with others and will not keep by themselves only. And, they have made their promise by conducting this small yet informative event within the smallest span of time.

This was then followed by a brief of  Mr. Denis, who is the Country head of Honor Pakistan, said, that “the company will work more with the local talent in order to be closer to the heart of their consumers.” He further added, that, “This will also open up the opportunity to put our contribution in the local media and advertising industry. Our approach is aggressive and we are very clear with the roadmap which we have decided with our local partners and hopefully, we will have good results from this market.”

Press Conference for the Music Launch of the Movie "Azad"

KARACHI: A press conference for the forthcoming movie, Azad held at Royal Rodale club.

The press conference was being hosted by Shanaz Ramzi. Where, she gave a brief introduction about the film and studio. In the second phase, the movie trailer was shown along with the cast and crew members some of those who were present at the occasion. The director and co-producer of the film, Rehan Sheikh, together with executive producer, Hasan Naeem and the actor Salman Shahid were requested to come on the stage for further discussion, which was moderated by Mrs. Ramzi. To give a live entertaining to the guests, Abbas Ali Khan with his co-partner Natasha performed to “Mein azad hoon.” The conference was preceded with a live rendition by Abbas and Rehan Sheikh of “Kuch mat Pucho”.

In the third phase of the conference, the lyricist, Ali Moin, and Abbas Ali Khan were requested to come forward on the stage invited for a further discussion on the entire music of the movie. Meanwhile, during the discussion A video of ‘Tehriye hazoor’ was showed, which then followed by a live performance of the same song by singer and music composer, Schumaila Rehmat Hussain, delighting everyone with her live performance to  “Tanha”, another number sung by her for the movie. Schumaila, Rehan Sheikh and Abbas Ali Khan then discussed the making and the whole composition process of these two songs, sharing the memorable on set clichés and fun. At the end of the conference, the floor was then opened to questions and answers for media and bloggers.

 “Azad” is said to be produced as an independent film, an off-beat comedy drama with a hint of romance and a unique story. The film breaks the traditional stereotype narratives along with its realistic and dynamic characters, taking the audience to heights of humorous and thereby engaging in the journey of self-discovery.

The movie is lined up for release on the February 9^th, which is then distributed by Eveready group of companies, nationwide. The stirring cast includes: Rehan Sheikh, Sanam Saeed, Salman Shahid, Sabreen Hisbani along with many others. Rehan Sheikh is the director and producer of the movie Azad, whereas Hasan Naeem is the executive producer of the movie.
